SCANDAL

SCANDAL is the next book in the With Me series. I am currently at the 25% mark in writing this story, and since the series has a lot of behind-the-scenes fun, I wanted to share some of the hidden secrets.

The concept is for stand-alone stories, connected through the titles and locations. “Risk… with me.” And now “Scandal… with me.” Okay, so maybe I’m the only one who gets excited about that. But it makes my title list endless.

And you don’t have to pick up a book and wonder what other book you were supposed to read first–not that I don’t also love a connected series, with either the same characters or those you first meet as secondary forces. They’re fun to write, too.

The books are connected, though, not just through my title “joke.” Locations usually play a role–for Risk, the ocean was an important element. In Scandal, it will be the isolation–think a private San Juan island. Broader location data: Washington, Oregon, Northern California. (And my heart goes out to all the tragic fire losses our entire area has suffered.) The themes will likely be enemies-to-lovers in some form, and the books can be read in any order.

SCANDAL is deliciously twisted, and I’m far enough in to get a real sense of these two–Luna and Connor.

Here’s a little teaser for now. Things can always change…

I’m not naïve. I know not every relationship works out. Not even the relationships you count on, with the people you love.

With the one person you think is your north star, who will be there when you’re lost in the ocean.

I focused on putting one foot in front of the other, pounding the ground until each jarring impact hit my knees. The jogging path was well-used, hard-packed, and I wanted to force the anger into the run. My own advice, given to my clients, and now I needed to give it to myself.

Have a good cry, Luna. Don’t make your eyes puffy. Then go out and run.
